Anyway, after spending two hours with the dentist yesterday I decided to hit the thrift stores this morning. Here is what I found....
The picture has the perfect colors for my bedroom. I am not that into beach scenes but I really like the colors. I removed the glass to start with and I will paint the frame white I think. The doll's head I removed from her body, popped her eyes out and stuck her on top of a Dollar Tree pumpkin. The birdhouse I will paint black and put crows on. The white dish was only .25 cents so I will add that to my stoneware collection.
I have to buy anything that is black and white so the mug was a no brainer! The plates are made in Portugal for Williams Sonoma.
See Sparky's tail on the left? He wouldn't stop barking at the chipmunk! |
I have already removed the hardware. The details will really pop with some sanding/distressing. I love the look of painted furniture. My grandpa was a furniture stripper in the 70's. He would flip if he saw what I am doing to furniture! I don't paint good quality furniture though, usually inexpensive items or pieces I find at the curb!
What a wonderful day at the thrift shop! Great buys and I love the painting. Can't wait to see what you do with the console!
