A Winter White Tablescape

I love my first set of dishes in 2011! They are Italian Countryside by Mikasa. I found them at Salvation Army for.....are you ready?....19 pieces $37.50! A great deal! The set includes four dinner plates, four salad plates, four bowls, 3 tea cups and four saucers. I figured I could buy a tea cup in a retail store if I want one that badly! I got the pine cones at Walmart 75% off after Christmas. I think in some of the pictures you can still see the yellow price tags on the plates. I get so excited to set the table I don't remember to take the tags off!

I found the napkins on the same shopping trip. The silver plated napkin rings are ones I found a while ago. The flatware was my mother's.
The tan and brown vase was found on another shopping trip to Salvation Army. The green wine glasses are from the Dollar Tree.

Sparky....wondering what the heck I am doing!  (don't mind all the catalogs on the floor.....Coldwater Creek, Ballard Designs, Pottery Barn, Chicos, etc.....)

The table with candles instead of the vase.

A good view of the plates....and yes you can see the yellow sticker!

You can see I am still experimenting with no flash. I don't know what I am doing wrong....it looks so yellow. I probably need a better camera...oh well.

Thanks for stopping by. I will be joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

  1. Love your mikasa dinnerware, I just love the simple lines cause they go with anything. Your table looks very elegant. Really like both tablescapes, but my fav is the one with the candles. Nice to meet you....enjoyed my visit.

  3. Great find at Salvation Army. We don't ever get anything wonderful at ours as it is so picked over before it even gets on the floor. Wish we had a good thrift store. You got wonderful things. Very pretty table.

  13. A woman after my own heart. I am a widow with little income so most of my dishes etc are from thrift stores. Love the way you used the silver with the white. Very elegant.
