An Island "Scape" Tablescape Thursday

I was inspired by the pictures on Yvonne's blog at http://stonegable.blogspot.com/2010/04/colorful-island-tablescape.html to create a "Island Scape" in my space. Actually it is a peninsula rather than an island and is only about 5' long. This is what I came up with.....

I found the fabric for the runner and PTO. I am not sure what it is. At first I thought it was burlap but, when I ironed it it felt like wool. Then a placemat, wicker charger, red charger (Walmart), yellow plate (DT), bowl (DT). The mugs were my grandma P.'s. They were a gift to her from her sister-in-law (Aunt Isabel). There used to be four but, I broke one. Of course, it was my favorite one with grapes on the handle :(  The flatware is my everyday flatware, Dansk Torun.

Pitchers, candle holders and parfait glasses are all thrift store finds.

I will be joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

  1. Great island scape. I love the colors the way you have layered the linens and the dishes. Very pretty. The mugs are gorgeous. The grouping of pitchers are so pretty too. Very inviting. Hugs, Marty

  2. So pretty and I love the mugs, very different. Mom just made a set of placemats that have little apples on them that would look great with the mugs. My dear 89 year young Mom sews and tats to keep herself busy. She does lovely work. I'm off to add myself to your followers.
    Have a great day.
