Christmas Hutch

I found the inspiration for my hutch display in Romantic Homes November 2010 issue. I love all the white and how it looks clean and festive but with switching a few pieces it has a great Christmas look.

Here is my interpretation......

My cabinet is much smaller than the inspiration so I didn't use quite as many pieces. Most of the pieces are from thrift stores. The pitcher on the bottom shelf and and the one in the middle are from Marshall Fields several years ago.

I found the faux crab apples at the PTO thrift store. I couldn't believe my luck! I also found the covered dish, the sugar bowl, and they had a huge table piled with new in the box Hallmark ornaments. Most priced from .50 cents to $4.00. I bought 8!  I also found the silver plated handled dish for just $1.00! I spent $27.00 but made a huge haul!

Santa was one of the ornaments I found. The little votive holder is from Target for .99. It is smaller than a regular size votive so fits perfectly with my scene. I went outside and cut some of the pine tree in the yard. Michigan White Pine, the state tree.  The sugar bowl sits atop stacked plates all from thrift stores.

I found the pine cones at PTO. I know I could find them outside but, the ones I find are always so sappy they stick to everything! My medium soup tureen sits on some of my favorite Christmas books. Another votive and a glass door knob from my mother-in-law's home complete the bottom shelf.

My hutch is completely decorated and I haven't even unpacked one box of Christmas decorations!  I will be joining Marty at a Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Lisa, that was a great idea to use the magazine picture as inspiration, and you did a wonderful job with your own hutch. You have some nice white pieces, and I love the apples on the stand for a little color! Linda

  8. Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Love ALL your pieces. You know, I've never thought about using greenery on the shelves of my cabinet. I've only put it on top. Now I'm going to have to purchase more of the stuff to place strategically here and there around my glass, plates, and other things.

    Very pretty job!
