Fourth Sunday in Advent

I had the Sundays in Advent mixed up. The fourth Sunday is Love and the second Sunday is Peace. Oh well, I tried!  I thought I would share pictures of our church for the last Sunday in Advent. The basic design is one I did about 12 years ago. I think the big trees have been replaced but, the design is the same.

I forgot my camera so these I took with my cell phone. They aren't too bad.

Front Chancel area set up for the 12:10 Contemporary service.
I love red poinsettias. The shot is a little blurry.
Tree in the back balcony. This tree is affectionately called "Terry's Tree". Our retired ministered suggested a tree in the balcony that he could see when preaching. It has become a tradition.

Tall stained glass windows, wreaths and artificial "roping" with lights.
 Another shot of "Terry's Tree".
The red in the candle brings out the red in the windows.
These are the ornaments I bought for both trees. I wanted something that was subdued and elegant. I found them at Walmart of all places. I think they were four in a pack for .99 cents and I was lucky to find enough for both trees.

I will be joining Marty at A Stroll thru Life and Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas!

  1. this must be the day for reminders of days gone by. Shelia (http://notesongs.blogspot.com) set her table wiht my china that was Mom's. Your church looks like my growing up one. I miss the Advent celebrations in church. Our church does it some years but it is much more "casual". We do it at home as well. Thanks for share the loveliness. Merry Christmas!
